Beginner Program

In our beginner programs, riders learn to catch a horse in a herd, tie to a hitching rail, groom and tack a horse, and ride for approximately an hour.  After the lesson, the rider untacks, stores everything appropriately, and returns the horse to its pen.

The goals are

move safely around a horse and a group of horses,

develop balance and control at walk, trot, and canter,

understand different types of tack and uses of tack and grooming equipment,

understand different types of horses and what they are used for as well as

what they are best for,

develop a basic understanding of the horse.
